About CountyTaxBreaks
Property-tax exemptions and deadlines, county by county, with official sources.
Why this exists
Property-tax exemptions can save homeowners real money, but the rules are spread across state revenue departments and hundreds of county offices, each with its own website, forms and deadlines. New homeowners often don't know they need to apply at all. We put the key facts for each county on one page and link every one back to the official source.
How we research
- We only use official sources: state comptrollers and revenue departments, county appraisal districts, property appraisers, tax assessors and tax commissioners.
- Every fact has a numbered citation that links to the source, along with the date we last checked it.
- If we couldn't confirm something, we leave it out or label it Not verified yet. We never estimate dollar amounts or dates.
- Population rankings use U.S. Census Bureau county estimates for July 1, 2024.
What we are not
We aren't a government agency, a law firm or a tax adviser. This site is informational only. Your county office has the final word on whether you qualify.

Advertising and affiliates
There are no ads, affiliate links or tracking scripts on this site right now. If that changes, sponsored links will be clearly labeled and kept separate from the facts.
